I am more than slightly annoyed with the doll stand that came with Marisol. I'm glad it was basically free because I got the discount by buying the whole collection. I certainly would not buy the doll stand by itself. I have a dozen of the old wooden stands sold by Pleasant Co., which I use for photo shoots, along with another two dozen of the ordinary metal kinds of stands. I photographed a lot of the girls outdoors for the Solstice yesterday and when I picked up one of them, the bottom fell off her stand! It happened several times as I changed the dolls' positions but I was working fast and noticed the annoyance, not the fact that it was the same stand every time. Finally I picked up groups of dolls and once again, one of the bases fell off! Turns out the metal part on Marisol's stand that goes into the shank on the base is MUCH shorter than the older stands. You can't pick the doll up and carry it without supporting the base! Excuse me, when I'm moving 3 dozen dolls in and out of the house, that's the last thing I need to worry about!

I would send it back. Just tell them that you have several others that don't fall apart, and you would like to exchange it. I've never come across a CS rep yet who wouldn't help with that.
